Binh Dinh

Binh Dinh

Introduction

The Binh Dinh plant is Ayo Biomass's first and largest wood pellet facility. It sits in the Phu Tai Industrial Zone at Quy Nhon, in the middle of Vietnam's largest acacia plantation region, and has been in production since 2019.

At 250,000 metric tons a year it accounts for roughly 62% of group capacity. It is also the site that holds our FSC Chain of Custody and Controlled Wood certificate and our SBP certificate, so it is the entity a buyer checks when verifying a shipment.

Operations and quality control

The plant runs modern pelletizing lines with automated quality control, and it is instrumented end to end on the Koidra intelligent operations platform. Moisture and durability are measured inline during production rather than sampled at the end of a run, and quality parameters refresh every 60 seconds. A deviation raises an alert while the batch can still be corrected.

Every shipment leaves with a certificate of analysis generated from that same production record. Product is graded to ENplus A1 and A2 and to industrial specification. The full specification table lists each property with its ISO test method.

Storage and logistics

On-site covered storage holds more than 15,000 MT of finished product, which lets loading run continuously once a vessel is on berth.

Quy Nhon International Port is 12 km away by road. That short haul means fewer truck movements per tonne than producers moving pellets from the highlands to the coast, and it shows up directly in delivered carbon intensity. The port handles vessels from Handymax to Panamax.

Loading runs above 10,000 MT per day, with a record of 18,000 MT in a single day. In one loading the plant put 25,500 MT onto a single vessel in 1.5 days, a record for Vietnamese pellet producers.

The site loaded Vietnam's first bulk pellet shipment for Drax on 5 March 2021: 10,500 tonnes onto the Siraya Wisdom, completed in 1.5 days.

Certification

The FSC Chain of Custody and Controlled Wood certificate PBN-COC-056308 and the SBP certificate SBP-08-23 are both held at this site. Registration codes, scopes, expiry dates and the signed certificates are published on our sustainability page.
